Cyndy
Ovalle is a News Editor/Public Service Director for Cumulus
Media in Ventura County, CA. In her position she is responsible
for disseminating community information and creating awareness
about important issues affecting the citizens of Ventura
County.
She has worked in the electronic media business for more
than 18 years and understands the value of marketing to
the appropriate market.
Cyndy has also worked for several non-profit agenices
in Public Relations/Marketing and Fundraising. Her business
experience and extensive knowledge has proven to be a
great asset to many companies and agencies outside the
arena of media.
Cyndy served on the Board of Directors and as a consultant/volunteer/fundraiser
for many agencies ---including Easter Seals Tri Counties;
the Associated Press Television and Radio Association,
ARC-Ventura County, American Red Cross, California Chicano
News Media Association, Beyond War and the Oxnard College
Youth at Risk Program.
Always
the community activist, Cyndy was the perfect choice for
hosting the Public Awareness talkshows for KCAQ, KKUR,
KVEN, KHAY and KBBY.
Through
her efforts on behalf of the non profit agencies and her
experience as a News Editor/PSA Director ---it became
obvious to her that the majority of people have no understanding
of how to communicate with media-----successfully.
Two
years ago, when Cyndy was was asked to give a presentation
to a group called the Womens Economic Ventures program
---she jumped at the opportunity to teach female entrepreneurs
how to market, advertise and promote their own businesses.
She offers numerous tips, hints and sure fire methods
for getting what you want from media!
She
continues to be an energetic volunteer for the WEV by
speaking about demoss, PSAs; successful press
releases and the all important TOMA.
In
2002, Cyndy began teaching her own seminar GOING
PUBLIC specifically for non-profit agencies. Every
month-- every seminar is sold out.
Participants
(hyperlink to referrals more are coming) are impressed
with the amount of information she shares and excitedly
call or write Cyndy to share the success they have had
using her ideas and hints.
If
your company or non profit agency is in need of direction
regarding publicity, advertising or fundraising----for
your business or agency---be sure to register early for
GOING PUBLIC seminars. |

I have had the pleasure of knowing Cyndy and working with her
on the Board of Easter Seals Tri-Counties, as well as utilizing
her media expertise for several events for the Port Hueneme
Police Department. Cyndy goes above and beyond the call of duty
in everything she does. Her multi-faceted background and skills
make her an asset to any organization. I am very happy that
Cyndy is now sharing her talents with the rest of the world,
especially Ventura County by teaching. I look forward to taking
some of her classes in the near future!
